Yo-Yo Ma Arlington Concert reviews
Dance Party Monster Trucks
The Live Hot Wheels Yo-Yo Ma Truck show was surprisingly entertaining. The monster trucks only ran for about 30 minutes during the 3-hour event, divided into three 10-minute segments of crushing cars repeatedly. Initially exciting, watching them effortlessly drive over the flattened cars became monotonous. Expecting a dirt track full of tricks, I was disappointed to see them just driving over cars and doing donuts on the floor. The show was slow-paced, with excessive talking by the MCs and time wasted on crowd participation activities. For $150 worth of seats, I would have skipped this event if I had known what to expect. Big Foot, the only well-known truck, broke down and had to be towed, remaining out of commission for the rest of the show. The highlight was exploring the "crash zone" and taking close-up photos with the drivers and trucks before the show. The motorcycle stunt performers were impressive, but their segment was short compared to the overall duration. The abundance of downtime waiting for the trucks to perform was disappointing. The venue was cold due to the need for fresh air to clear exhaust fumes, making it uncomfortable for spectators. I wouldn't spend money on this event again.
